A Unique Social Enterprise:

Mountain FM is a creative, dynamic and sustainable, commercial radio station broadcasting from 7am to 7pm on DAB to a potential audience of 2.5 million people across South Wales and South West England. Unlike many other commercial radio stations Mountain FM is established as a social enterprise. Profits generated by Mountain FM are used to support charitable aims, benefiting some of the most deprived regions in the UK. 

Mountain FM is part Festival Church Trust’s portfolio of successful community social action projects. Profits generated by Mountain FM will sustain the Ebbw Vale foodbank and enable Festival Church Trust to launch debt support, mentoring, a care line and other innovative new projects that have a direct benefit to those in crisis. 

Unique Music Format:

Mountain FM broadcasts a wide variety of chart music and classic hits, carefully selected to be uplifting and suitable for a family audience. It's music format is therefore unique making Mountain FM one of the first stations to offer content that stands for both "taste" and "decency" as well as being positive and uplifting. Parents can listen with their children safe in the knowledge that the lyrics of the music is safe for children to sing along with. 

Community Focussed: Mountain FM generates community cohesion, offering a professional radio platform for local agencies and charities to promote their services. Mountain FM acts as a focal point for those in crisis, signposting clients to appropriate support via a care line - 0845 600 77 80. Mountain FM has a particular focus on those who are marginalised. The media platform enables the project to offer a commercial standard of media training and development to local people, improving confidence, skills and employability. 

A Radio Station for the Future: Mountain FM began broadcasting over the internet in February 2010 and on DAB to a potential audience of 2.5 million people from July 2011.
